Robert Duvall: “You can’t really see your country, but you can love it”

I simply love this video narrated by one of my very favorite actors, Robert Duvall.  It is truly inspiring.

He says, “you can’t touch your country, but you can serve it.”

And he goes on to say that we are all here because of our founder fathers and their belief in us.  Doesn’t that cut to the heart of it all?

Thank you, Terry. You always make such fine selections that always puts things in perspective.

My favorite quote of Duvall’s is:

“You smell that? Do you smell that? Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of napalm in the morning. It smells like…victory!”

It was a movie about Vietnam.

Oh yes. I don’t think there’s one movie where I haven’t liked him.

Apocalypse Now.

“So….you just wanna up and drive NASCAR?”

Not only do I like the actor, but I liked that message. I was shocked to hear anything that wasn’t anti-American anymore.
