Idiot Adults Expel Kindergartner For Bringing Toy Gun
In my home county of Anderson, the brilliant people think little children are adults capable of understanding the policy manuals and repercussions of zero tolerance policies. In the incestuous vein of Anderson County politics, school spokesman Karen Bridgeman is the wife of our local newspaper editor Ron Bridgeman. She holds the line on the rogue tot! From Bob Fowler at the Sentinel:
The Andersonville Elementary School kindergarten student brought a toy gun to school in his backpack Thursday and was expelled Friday. “There’s no tolerance for kids with weapons of any kind,” school system spokeswoman Karen Bridgeman said.
Got get ‘em, Karen!!
And here’s the Head Honcho of Schools:
“We take all these incidents very seriously,” Director V.L. Stonecipher said. “Our code of conduct clearly spells out unacceptable behavior and the consequences.
Until every parent either home schools, demands vouchers, or places their children in private schools, you’re going to continue to see this kind of utter foolishness and insanity.
These liberals who actively promote their liberalism are quite often revealed for the heavy-handed-power brokers that they are. They do their best to stomp out the flame of religious or moral self-governance and foolishly believe they can control the heart of man with their iron-handed-rules.
As this young kindergartner was being expelled, my own little 3rd grader was carrying his wooden rifle replica to his class project as part of his re-enactment of Daniel Boone.
Had he appeared at one of our bureaucratic institutions, he would have needed to convert Daniel Boone’s gun to ploughshares.
***And speaking of stupid, how is a toy gun a weapon? Is a picture of a gun a weapon? A toy gun is not a weapon. Not at all. A fork in the cafeteria is more of a so-called weapon than a toy gun.

Ok, lets assume for a minute that “zero tolerance” is a great thing. Apparently Ms. Bridgeman thinks it is so why don’t we go zero tolerance on other things? Tardiness? Bullying? Or why does society hold these CHILDREN

Ok, lets assume for a minute that “zero tolerance” is a great thing. Apparently Ms. Bridgeman thinks it is so why don’t we go zero tolerance on other things? Tardiness? Bullying? Or why does society hold these CHILDREN accountable to such tough standards when we would NEVER try to hold adults to such a standard. Speeding? Who doesn’t want a break? Drug dealing? In TN there is an ENTITLEMENT to probation not an eligibility for probation since the state considers drugs to be non-violent. But let a kid bring a harmless piece of plastic and it’s on!! I guess what it represents scares the poo-poo out of the weak and stupid. But I guess drugs don’t. I hope the next time the illustrious and industrious Ms. Bridgeman sees someone get off easy for killing someone or dealing drugs, she screams bloody murder for zero tolerance in Anderson County. A jurisdiction long known for it’s tough sentencing and no nonesense criminal prosecution.

What do you want to bet that Ms. Bridgeman is anti-death penalty, even for the most heinous crimes?

RE:Kindergardner with toy gun
Whoever made the decision to expel this child should be fired. Whatever happened to common sense?!

Maybe this kindergartener should be treated like an adult, you know, like those 500,000 illegal immigrants that have HAD a day in court and lost but still feel that they are entitled to live here? Maybe that same zero tolerance should be enforced on Homeland Security and ICE. Why aren’t they treting those violators the same way as this child? Which offense is more serious and broader in scope? And we won’t even bring up how that traitorous Bush put a HOLD on ANY deportation efforts on B-HO’s aunt now. What happened to equal protection under the law? Apparently an innocent American child is granted fewer rights and opportunities for justice than an illegal alien that is under a deportation order.

this happened in my hometown of west monroe, louisiana in about 1995/96 – a child drew a picture in school on a piece of paper of his favorite sport – which was hunting with his dad, hence sporting a picture of a gun also — the child was suspended from school & it made national headlines – the child was as innocent as could be & actually a very well behaved little boy with great decent parents — that’s what they call ‘jumping the gun’, so to speak …
