What Obama REALLY thinks of “his” troops
By Emmanuel Goldstein
Criminal and congressional investigations go on to document the evidence for the upcoming criminal case against a Ft. Hood Muslim terrorist and to (hopefully) correct what allowed this to happen. This November 5 incident was a tragedy. This tragedy could have and should have been avoided if PC had been taken out of the equation.
But even prior to this shooting, Presidnet Obama arranged for the press to be present so that they could photograph him saluting the remains of those that had fallen on missions he sent them on. Should that be something that is advertised? A guilty dog barks first and he certainly wanted to show us that the barking wasn’t his I guess. What is telling is that only one family allowed him to be photographed with them or their loved one. The military knows what the media won’t say. He arranged that little “show” for his own personal and political gain. Tacky to say the least. Uncaring? You betcha. Quite telling? I think so.
While troops still lay bleeding and fighting for their lives; while loved ones awaited news of survival or of the passing of family members; the occupant of our White House was giving “shout outs” to people and thanking them for a wonderful conference and “honoring” imaginary war heroes. Tacky to say the least. Uncaring? You betcha. Quite telling? I think so. Teleprompter issues?
Where were the other great military minds? I think that “the Maverick” John McCain should have condemned those statements that were uttered in jest by President Obama. I don’t remember John Kerry jumping in front of a camera to condemn this act like he did while accusing this same military of raiding Iraqi homes in the night. What about John Murtha who can look into his crystal ball and convict our troops without a trial? They used the terms terrorism about our troops and then apparently can only get upset about the Ft. Hood shooting because it cut in during their time watching Oprah. Tacky to say the least. Uncaring? You betcha. Quite telling? I think so.
In the interest of fairness and non-partisan views, I thought that the speech President Obama gave a few days later at Ft. Hood was a good one. The speech touched on a number of issues and brought home that soldiers, while in uniform, serve in the interests of national security, but are also people with stories that go past the uniform. The speech, in my opinion, was a proper and dignified one. I give points to President Obama and his teleprompter.
Then on Thursday, November 19, I think we see the real President Obama again. Telling those that serve in uniform and risk their very existence to preserve the Republic “You guys make a pretty good photo op” is ridiculous. They are a “photo op.” They might as well be no more than the flags and velvet curtains behind him. Apparently to Obama,, one of the responsibilities of the military is to make him look good. Tacky to say the least. Uncaring? You betcha. Quite telling? I think so. More teleprompter issues?
I think that to add insult to injury, the Commander in Chief then tell these pawns that he wants to increase their pay. This understandably results in cheers from those in attendance. This brave President then says: “That’s what you call an applause line,” before boarding his jet and taking off. Tacky to say the least. Uncaring? You betcha. Quite telling? I think so. Even more teleprompter issues?
I think that our current politicians seem to think that those that serve in the military are nothing but little plastic Army men that he can leave in the sandbox without even putting them into the toy box. They are not cheap plastic toys that can be forgotten or used for their amusement. Our military deserves better. Who in Washington will demand it for them? Who will speak for them as they cannot speak for themselves due to the chain of command. Lamar? Corker? Anyone? We have Congressmen that could speak up too. Don’t let the deafening sound of crickets be all they hear on their behalf.

“When he [Barack Obama] was at Dover the other day, and went there to pay respect for soldiers, I heard a lot of people on the Right say “Aw, that’s just a cheap photo-op.” No, I think it was the Commander-in-Chief of our military paying respect to a dead soldier, and I’m grateful that he did that, and I was proud of him for doing that. And I think we all — as Americans — should give him credit for doing that.”—Mike Huckabee, in a speech early this month, lashing out at his fellow Republicans for attacking the president for the most trivial matters.

As much as he’s done for the military, as much as he has said that his Civilian Corps will be as big and well funded as the military, I believe that it was a publicity stunt.
Why does he have to alert the press to pay respects? That is about as tacky as Bill Clinton trying to write off used underwear donations on his taxes.

And that still doesn’t address the other points even if the Dover trip was legit. For God’s sake, he gave “shout outs” to civilians that were safe and sound with him while soldiers and families were in pain. REAL Presidential right there.

I think his lack of decision about troops in Afghanistan tells us all we need to know about his “respect” for the troops.
He’s too busy preparing a list of Hollywood celebrities for his first State Dinner, golfing and taking his sleeveless wife on dates to do anything substantial.

Maybe he is really telling us about OUR military troops. He’s already told us what he thinks of the middle class. He has already shown us that contract and bankruptcy law can be ignored at his whim. He has shown us that certain companies and industries are to big to fail but the driving forces of the middle class must be squashed into failure. He has shown us what he thinks of quality care. He has shown us what he thinks about us making our own healthcare and insurance decisions.
And that man thought a Cambridge Police Officer acted stupidly?

George and Laura Bush drove down to Fort Hood from Dallas to visit the wounded troops and families of both survivors and the deceased and didn’t bring a news crew……out of respect for the victims, the US Military, as well as for the Office of the President. Enough said.

Scarecrow, what would you have suggested that Mr. Obama should have done with regard to Ft. Hood?
BCB, photographs clearly show Mr. Gates in handcuffs on his own porch, not in the street where he was said to have committed the crime of giving hell to a police officer.
By SemiPundit on 12.01.09 10:33 am
Where did he give hell? Where were the cuffs put on? Maybe for officer safety and witnesses he was removed from the house which might have contained weapons ro co-conspirators? And since neither you nor BHO were probably never cops, might I suggest that one or both of you go to a police academy and become one? Maybe then it will become clear why the officer didn’t just want to take the word of a man that had just broken into a house. Might a bad guy lie and become indignant? There was an individual acting stupidly, it was the man that refused to comply with a simple request so that all parties could return to normal.
Semi, that police officer had been trained to deal with that type of situation and did so in compliance with his department’s rules and regulations. Can we say the same about BHO? What training has he received? Military? How about a real job? Is he acting within the US Constitution? The real one, not the one he wants rewritten to give the GOVERNMENT all the rights, which he did say by the way.
