Our Founding Fathers would be heartbroken

By Emmanuel Goldstein

What we are seeing unfold before our eyes is the DEATH of our representative form of government or for the more formal in the crowd; ourRepublic. While I don’t mean to be insulting, I do not want to leave out those that suffer from the affliction of public education mixed with liberal bias so let me explain what that means. The United States is a Democratic Republic. We, the People, elect our representation that goes to Washington, D. C. with the charge that they act in our stead and in our collective (not individual) interests. It’s not complicated nor is it hard to understand that this leads to a nation of laws and order if it is followed.

But now there is an elitist mentality in our Capitol. They no longer look to the people as the reason for their presence on The Hill. The reason that many go there and stay so long is for personal gain. They now look on themselves as smarter and somehow better than the people that sent them there. They think that they see and do things that the people they represent don’t see and can’t do. In their minds, they are above the common man and their actions say that they want to maintain and grow their personal power and privilege.
I am going to point out just a few of the latest examples of this and by no means am I working to ONLY show the ills of the Democrat controlled Legislature and the Democrat Presidential Administration. They just happen to be in office and the latest manifestation of this power-grab.
Law and order? Why don’t we look at the great Cass Sunstein in this light? “There is no reason to believe that in the face of statutory ambiguity, the meaning of federal law should be settled by the inclinations and predispositions of federal judges. The outcome should instead depend on the commitments and beliefs of the President and those who operate under him,” So the role of our elected representation is subject to the whims of the President and his cronies to enforce or even recognize as they see fit? Sounds like a king to me.  And those Founding Fathers fought one once before.  Just food for thought.
President Obama has talked about a Bill of Rights for the Government. Rights are something that just are and need to be protected from an all powerful government. The Government needs no rights since it is supposed to represent the will of the people. Why does the President need the goverment to have it’s rights protected unless it’s to increase the power and intrusiveness of a government that he envisions?
Of, by and for the people sounds great but how many people were for the Stimulus Bill? That’s hard to answer since it went through in a whirlwind fashion and we are STILL learning what was in it. The majority are against this health insurance change that fixes problems that the government was the one to cause and now it turns to it’s power over it’s own citizens to fix it. The sad thing is, those of us carrying the load will have no input while those in power fix problems by causing larger ones. Oh, and did you know that the powerful will not be governed by these GREAT new insurance laws? Why not? If it’s so great, why aren’t they held to that standard? I thought that they REPRESENTED me? As my representative, they act, do and live in my stead and if I have to abide, then by God, so should they.
But they are the new Aristocracy and they live above our laws. They don’t pay Social Security, they won’t have this great new health insurance junk put upon them. They don’t send their kids to public schools, they don’t know the price of milk and I’m willing to bet that they won’t be held accountable for any future Cap and Trade legislation either.
If they are truly representative of us, why does POTUS eat $100 per pound steaks? Why did Nancy Pelosi get to take 3 aircraft to the Copenhagen Summit? How many seats can her skinny butt fill? How many aircraft does it take to lift her?  Why are they trying to regulate my carbon dioxide output when they don’t worry about theirs?
This is not new. The last Administration set new records on spending and the loss of personal liberty until this one came along. The Bush Administration set that ball of snow rolling and this group is keeping it going and growing as it goes downhill gaining speed and power.
We are seeing the death of true law and order, our form of government that took us this far and ultimately, we are watching the death throes of democracy, freedom and our personal liberties.
It was nice while it lasted.

I’m just wanting to ask the obvious question: If these people NEED health insurance adn are too dang poor to afford it without the help of the government, how do they plan on imposing taxes on them for non-compliance?

If this works and we can just legislate out of existence our problems, can’t we just write a bill that makes unemployment illegal also? If they are unemployed, let’s just fine them. Let’s do it with poverty too. I know, let’s legislate so that anyone that has a child that can’t afford it, they should get fined too. Think of the revenue stream!!And BHO could single handedly end unemployment, poverty and dirty, snot nosed kids with apathetic parents all with the swipe of his mighty pen!!

I meant imposing fines.
