Betty Bean: Talk of the Town

Betty Bean of the Halls Shopper News has the second article up in the Tyler Harber tell-all. Here’s an excerpt regarding Harber’s website and a discussion about Senator Jamie Woodson’s then opponent, Billy Stokes:

“Mike and Mike (Ragsdale and Arms) controlled the content on Caswalker.com. If they didn’t approve of something, it came down. And say what you will about Caswalker.com, but we were able to dominate the gossip all that summer. We were able to float out the idea of Ragsdale running for governor and gauge the reaction. It worked extremely well for a while. It did what it was intended to do.”

At first, Caswalker.com was set up on Harber’s county computer, and he says he used the “comments” section of the site to identify “enemies” inside the City County Building, down to the computer from which the comments were posted. He was also able to identify many other commenters, he says.

Candidate Stokes denied that anyone from his campaign was involved with the site, and now says that Harber lied to him about his involvement.

“I hated that Web site and am really embarrassed that I defended Tyler and Adam (Groves) when they lied to my face about their involvement. I think all that garbage about Jamie on there hurt me by implication and a lot of people thought it was generated by me solely because it was so nasty toward her.”

Stokes said he was a bad candidate, even a dumb ass, and was working full time at his law practice through the campaign. But he did not do that Web site.

More here.

On WNOX 100.3 FM Sunday, George Korda said he believed Betty’s story would become an “issue” if there were any illegalities. In my opinion, it looks like there are several illegalities.
Betty Bean reported on Monday (yesterday) on 1180 AM that she had been “contacted” by the FBI. That is all she would allow…but to me, that’s serious enough. And personally, from the two stories we see now, there seem to be several questions regarding the legality of several actions by Harber and company.
No one seems to be able to determine Harber’s whereabouts. Team Ragsdale has boiled their defense spin down to “Tyler Harber is a troubled young man and a liar.”

Perhaps well-known blogger Adam Groves, who was a close business associate and friend of Harber during this time, can weigh in on the story and possibly corroborate these very serious allegations that Harber is making. Groves was Harber’s computer man, so to speak, and was deeply involved.

Groves is a serious threat to the future of the Ragsdale administration. His record is clean and should he corroborate Harber’s allegations it would be both politically and perhaps criminally devastating for Ragsdale, Arms, and others.

Adam has always struck me as a straight-up guy and I believe he will co-operate with any potential investigation.
