Ford Loves Jesus: Moonbats hide out

WATE 6 power anchor Gene Patterson interviews Harold Ford Jr. today on his show that airs at noon eastern.

You can click here to get the links to watch or listen online.

It’s an interview really worth the watch. Ford hits Corker repeatedly throughout the interview…with shots like Mr. Corker has “no record to defend…no vision to fight for.”

Patterson presses Ford on the Playboy Playmate question, and Ford admits that he did go to a Super Bowl Party, but he “didn’t remember seeing any Playmates” there. He does make sure viewers know that he likes women–I guess a shot at the Foley scandal.
There are many standouts in the interview, but I found this comment from Ford most interesting: “I love Jesus, I can’t help it.”

Personally, I am glad to hear that. Both parties in America used to agree on common principles that have bound together the fabric of America. If we go back and look at the speeches of our founders, the words of Democrat and Republican Presidents like John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, FDR, we see that both Republicans and Democrats invoked the Godly beliefs of Americans. Both parties agreed upon core principles, such as marriage being a bond between man and woman.

Parties found their disagreement on issues like welfare, social security, foreign policy, education, etc. It would be good if we could get back to those points of disagreement at a national level.

What is most interesting however, about Ford’s “I love Jesus” comment will be the lack of response from many of his democratic brethren who normally scream and holler at the mere mention of the word “prayer.”

Ford wraps up the interview, just as he did in the debate, by saying he can win with our “votes and prayers.”

Please be attuned to the difference in response to Jim Bryson’s prayerful life, and Ford’s. Bryson has been ridiculed…the subject of many a snide remark across the blogosphere.

But where will the outrage for Ford be? Do democrats feel comfortable with one of their own invoking “Jesus Christ” because they don’t see him as a serious person of faith? Or is it because they sacrifice the issue for power?

Whatever the reason or answer, their lack of response will be noticed. And when moonbats come across the airwaves, in the papers, and on the blogs screaming about the outrage of politicians invoking faith, I’ll be happy to point out that Democratic star Harold Ford Jr. loves Jesus too.

On the subject of faith there was a letter to the editor in the Chattanooga Times Free Press about Bob Corker that ran this past spring.

From what I had heard Bob Corkers former pca pastor (presbyterian) had proclaimed he would not support Corker. I don’t know what the specifics were for his stand. I had heard someone discuss this on local radio in Chattanooga, before they were cut off. If anyone can locate this piece It really makes me curious.

Bob did say in one of the debates that he was methodist so at some point he changed churches, along with his denomination.

Bobs faith seems like a bit of a touchy subject and one he has never appeared comfortable with. When he does speak of it it comes across as scripted and not from the heart. Everyone approaches God in different ways so I can’t say Bob is insincere. Hes just never got fired up about what Tennesseeans consider core beliefs. It wouldn’t hurt him, actually might do him some good, if he said he loved Jesus too. I get the sense he either is afraid to or doesn’t want to.

Terry;
I agree that it is a shame that the Democratic Party has chosen to hate the Lord, because at one time, the need to invoke the blessings of the Almighty was something both sides agreed on completely. Democrats are either A.) Afraid of God or B.)Just don’t believe. Republicans like Bob Corker are afraid to proclaim their faith (if they have it) for scaring away the secularists.

Ford has figured out that you had better be grounded in faith to win in this State-I just hope and pray his faith is sincere.

‘ I agree that it is a shame that the Democratic Party has chosen to hate the Lord,’,,huh?

David, do you listen to yourself here? How on earth can you make such a preposterous statement? Do you know each and every Democrat? Where do you find that kind of garbage in any official Democrat publication?

I don’t hate the Lord. I am grateful everyday for my family, my job and the fact that I live in a free country. I am proud to be a Democrat.

Generalizing crapola statements about either party do nothing but polarize and certainly aren’t going to win converts for your party or your church.

I personally think that both candidates should leave Jesus out of the race, at least in terms of politicking. Jesus loves both of them, and the thousands of people who aren’t Christian. Our leaders represent ALL of the people, not just the folks that proclaim a particular religion. That doesn’t make me a hater. I think that makes me an American.

John, John, John, John, John- true Christians not only won’t leave Jesus out of it, they can’t. He is in every part of our lives and to think we as Christians have it in our power to keep Him out of politics is not only unreasonable, it shows a weakness on your part to be proud of your faith. Democrats like gays to profess and be proud of their sexuality yet here you say for Christians to deny their faith. Shame on you.

[...] We asked him about his faith. He says he makes no apologies for loving Jesus. Blogger Terry Frank has some interesting thoughts about that part of the discussion at her blog. [...]

TNOPINION has it right…You can’t help but let your light shine,(if you have that light) As for the Democrat’s they are the ones pushing for abortions, the gay life style..liberal judges, Now just where is this going to help America? I just don’t see it…I’m not happy with all Republicans, but there is no way I could ever vote for a Democrat! Ford says some changes in Iraq..duhhh If we get out of there now, Those crazies will be over here. Think long and hard before you pull that lever, what is best for America? This is our country..the Democrat’s would sell us out for a dime. (maybe a penny)

To John, I would say that if you can leave Jesus our of your bid for office, then you don’t have a true belief in Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. The bible tells us that we must confess our faith openly. Jesus died for our sins, and we can’t even speak up on his behalf. That is shameful!! When schools allowed prayer and the 10 commandents, you didn’t hear of school shootings. What does that say about people keeping their faith quiet? We are destroying our nation by keeping faith out of the political realm, schools, and all other public places.

No us Democrats don’t hate Jesus at all. We just don’t like it when the GOP pimps him out like a $2 whore to win elections and get richer while the poor and middle class are left to fend for themselves. Jesus said to give what is to Ceaser to Ceaser and to God what is God’s. His mission wasn’t about setting up a political government by making himself king as many of his followers wanted to do. His mission was the spiritual salvation of all mankind. St. Paul wrote for Christians to pray for their government leaders and respect them and to also pay their taxes without complaining. You can not use the government to force people to become Christians. Only God can bring people to Himself. The face is the GOP says that they love Jesus yet refuse to follow his teachings. That is what the Democrats are mad about.

I don’t understand how Democrats can say they are Christians when they support politicians and judges who create laws that have condoned the killing of 43 million innocent girls and boys in the womb. Yes, Democrats try to justify their voting for those that support such killing, by trying to change the subject to “war” or “poverty” or “the environment”. But when you look at these issues closely, you find that Republicans are doing the Christian thing in these areas also. Where in the Bible did Jesus say it would be acceptable to let a madman who used WMD on his own people, and paid terrorists $25K to kill innocent people, roam free and harbor terrorists? Why wouldn’t Jesus want us to protect the lives of the 25 million Iraqis and the 300 million Americans who are the targets of the terrorists and their state sponsors?
And Jesus said the poor would always be with us, but he never said they had to remain the same people. Why not go with the Republican idea of lowering taxes for all working Americans and thus causing a booming economy that helps people at all income levels? Why just measure your compassion by how many people you can keep on welfare?
And on the environment, God tells us to have dominion over the world and all the creatures in it, and be good stewards of the world. How does drilling for oil in an environmentally safe way in an uninhabited and uninhabitable small postage stamp sized area of the vast ANWR violate that?
